1. Palma: Since dropping a pair of games, the Chieftains have won eight straight, averaging 9.8 runs a game, while shutting out six of the eight opponents.

2. Carmel: There's always a hiccup during the season and the Padres had there's, giving up 12 runs in suffering their first Gabilan Division setback last week.

3. Santa Cruz: The only undefeated team in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League at 5-0, the Cardinals have outscored opponents 35-8 in league play.

4. Hollister: Snapped a three-game losing streak by knocking Carmel from the undefeated ranks in the Gabilan Division. The Balers have wins over Carmel and Palma (twice).

5. Soquel: Has rattled off three straight wins since falling by a run to Santa Cruz, producing the most overall wins in the tri-region at 13-1.

6. St. Francis: The Sharks have been a streaky team this spring, erasing a three-game skid with five consecutive wins before being blanked by Salinas.

7. Stevenson: Bigger battles await. But the Pirates have rattled off four straight wins, leaving them as the only undefeated left in the Mission Division.

8. Harbor: The Pirates are averaging nearly eight runs a game in their 11 wins. Yet, in there three setbacks, that number shrinks to 1.5 runs an outing.

9. Monte Vista: Bounced back from being knocked from the unbeaten ranks by Greenfield in the Mission Division, beating them in a second meeting 48 hours later.

10. Salinas: Snapped a six-game losing streak by ending St. Francis' five game winning streak, getting a gem on the hill from Evan Le.
