Palma Varsity Chieftains snatched the lead late in their 4-2 victory over St. Francis on Thursday. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the fifth when Rocco Razzeca doubled, scoring two runs.
Palma Varsity Chieftains got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after
Alan Gonzalez singled down the left field line, and
Wyatt Bakker grounded out, each scoring one run.
St. Francis tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a dropped third strike, and a single by Evan Dyer.
Manny Dorantes started the game for Palma Varsity Chieftains. The starter allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Nash Horton stepped on the mound first for St. Francis. The hurler gave up five hits and four runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Razzeca tossed two innings of shutout ball for Palma Varsity Chieftains in relief. The righty allowed one hit, striking out one and walking one.
