Palma Hires Girls Wrestling Coach

Palma School is pleased to announce the hiring of Zach Jimenez '09 as Palma's New Women's Wrestling Head Coach!!

Coach Jimenez was a four-year letter winner as a student-athlete at San Francisco State University, made All-Conference twice and was a Regional Place Winner three times. He qualified for the NCAA Wrestling Championships two of his four years. He still holds the record at Palma for all-time wins, earned CCS medals all four years and was a CIF State qualifier.

"I stepped away from the men's head coach a few years back to focus on my family, but I'm excited to take on this head coaching role again, which is now the first of its kind for Palma. Women's wrestling is one of the country's fastest-growing sports, and I'm glad we will now be a part of that. We will strive to achieve the level of success the men's team has, and I promise to bring that same level of intensity, hard work, and dedication to this new program." Zach commented.

Coach Jimenez coached at San Francisco State University prior to becoming Palma's head coach in 2015. After a brief hiatus, he returned to coach Palma's JV and Freshmen grapplers. He is continuing the rich tradition of Jimenez wrestling at Palma.
