The Palma Girls Soccer team opened their league season with a dominant 3-0 victory over the Seaside Spartans, earning their first league win. The team now holds a 1-0 league record and a 2-2-1 overall record.
Genesis Vasquez put Palma on the board first, scoring the opening goal to give her team the lead. Ellie Fuqua then took charge, netting two goals to seal the win and secure the victory for Palma.
Defensively, the team was rock solid, with
Kathryn Dill,
Xitlaly Ibanez-Cardenas,
Gianna Gastello, and
Emily Veliz shutting down Seaside's attack. In goal,
Carolina Lorca recorded her second shutout of the season, playing a key role in maintaining the clean sheet.
In midfield,
Molly Nino and
Allison Guerra were crucial in controlling the pace of the game. Guerra's stellar all-around play earned her Player of the Game honors, with her work both offensively and defensively helping to dictate the match.
